Vietnam Tour Expert helps international travellers get the right Vietnam visa quickly and correctly: standard and urgent e-visas (from 1 hour to 5 working days), visa approval letters for visa on arrival, corrections of e-visa mistakes and airport fast track. A standard single-entry e-visa costs US$41 all-in, including the US$25 government fee – you send your details once and we check, file and follow up the application for you.
Many travellers do not need a visa at all: citizens of 24 countries – including the UK, most of Western and Central Europe, Japan and South Korea – can stay up to 45 days visa-free, and Phu Quoc island allows 30 days visa-free. Check the rules below first – we will tell you honestly if you do not need our service.
Updated October 2026. Vietnam Tour Expert is a licensed tour operator, not a government agency. The official e-visa portal is evisa.gov.vn.
Do You Need a Visa for Vietnam in 2026?
- ASEAN citizens: most can visit visa-free for 14 to 30 days under bilateral agreements.
- Phu Quoc island: all nationalities can stay up to 30 days visa-free when flying directly to Phu Quoc from abroad and staying on the island; continuing to the mainland needs a valid visa or exemption.
- Staying longer than your exemption (for example 60 days, or two trips with a side visit to Cambodia or Laos): apply for a 90-day e-visa, single or multiple entry.
- Passport: must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date, with blank pages for stamps.

Visa Approval Letter (Visa on Arrival)
A visa approval letter lets you collect your visa at the landing-visa counter of a Vietnamese international airport. For most holidaymakers the e-visa is simpler, but the letter is still useful for some urgent cases and group travel. The letter price below does not include the visa stamping fee, which you pay in cash at the airport (US$25 single entry, US$50 multiple entry). Visa on arrival is for air travel only – not for land borders or seaports.
| Approval letter | Processing time | Single entry | Multiple entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard approval letter | 5 working days | US$17 | US$19 |
| Urgent – 3 working days | 3 working days | US$39 | US$43 |
| Urgent – 2 working days | 2 working days | US$43 | US$48 |
| Urgent – 1 working day | 1 working day | US$48 | US$56 |
| Urgent – 4 hours | 4 working hours | US$76 | US$87 |
Bring the printed letter, your passport, a passport photo (4 × 6 cm) and the stamping fee in US dollars.
E-Visa Correction Service
A small mistake on an e-visa – a wrong letter in your name, a wrong date of birth, passport number, entry date or entry port – can stop you from boarding. Airlines and border officers check that the e-visa matches your passport exactly. We can request the correction for you:
| Correction | Weekdays | Weekend |
|---|---|---|
| Correct 1 error (name, date of birth, entry date or port) | US$68 | US$101 |
| Correct a wrong passport number | US$89 | US$105 |
| Correct 2 errors | US$109 | US$122 |

Vietnam Visa FAQs
1. Do I need a visa to visit Vietnam in 2026?
It depends on your passport. Citizens of the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Nordic countries, Japan, South Korea and 12 more European countries can stay up to 45 days visa-free, and most ASEAN citizens 14 to 30 days. Most other nationalities, including the USA, Canada, Australia and India, need an e-visa. We can check for you on our contact page.
2. How much does a Vietnam e-visa cost?
The government fee is US$25 for a single-entry and US$50 for a multiple-entry e-visa. Through Vietnam Tour Expert a standard e-visa costs US$41 single or US$77 multiple, all-in, with every detail checked before filing. See all prices in our e-visa price table.
3. How long does it take to get a Vietnam e-visa?
A standard e-visa usually takes about 3–5 working days. If you are in a hurry we offer urgent processing in 4, 3, 2 or 1 working day, 4 hours or 1 hour, plus weekend approval. Urgent prices are in our e-visa table.
4. Can I get a Vietnam visa urgently in one day or at the weekend?
Yes. We can arrange an urgent e-visa in 1 working day, in 4 working hours or even 1 hour, and a weekend approval service for Saturday and Sunday. Send your details early in Vietnam working hours (GMT+7) through our contact page.
5. How long can I stay in Vietnam with an e-visa?
The Vietnam e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, and is open to citizens of all countries. A multiple-entry e-visa suits trips that include Cambodia or Laos, such as our Mekong River cruises.
6. Is visa on arrival still available in Vietnam?
Yes, for air travel: you need a visa approval letter before you fly, then pay the stamping fee (US$25 single, US$50 multiple) at the airport. For most travellers the e-visa is simpler. Compare both in our visa on arrival section.
7. What happens if there is a mistake on my Vietnam e-visa?
Airlines and border officers check that the e-visa matches your passport exactly, so a wrong name, date of birth, passport number or entry port must be corrected before you travel. We can request the correction for you – see our e-visa correction service.
8. Can I enter Vietnam through a different airport than the one on my e-visa?
No – you should enter through the port written on your e-visa. If your flight changes to another city, contact us before you travel so we can advise on a correction. Our team can also arrange airport fast track at the new airport.
9. Can I visit Phu Quoc without a visa?
Yes. All nationalities can stay on Phu Quoc island for up to 30 days visa-free if they fly or sail there directly from abroad and stay on the island. To continue to mainland Vietnam you need a visa or exemption. Plan your island time with a cruise like the Mekong Eyes cruise to Phu Quoc.
10. What is airport fast track in Vietnam and is it worth it?
Fast track means our staff meet you at the gate and take you through a priority immigration lane, which can save an hour at busy times in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. It is especially useful with children or tight connections. Prices start from US$28 per person – see our fast track prices.
11. Is Vietnam Tour Expert the official Vietnam visa website?
No. We are a licensed Vietnamese tour operator (since 2012) offering visa assistance. The official e-visa portal is evisa.gov.vn, where you can also apply yourself; our fee covers checking, filing, follow-up and urgent handling. Read more about Vietnam Tour Expert.
12. Can I combine a Vietnam visa with a tour or transfer?
Yes – many guests book the visa, airport fast track and their private tour together, so one team looks after the whole trip. Browse our Vietnam tours and tell us your dates.
