Golden Bridge held by giant stone hands above the clouds at Ba Na Hills, Da Nang

Da Nang

Golden beaches, the Golden Bridge in the clouds, marble caves and a fire-breathing dragon – Da Nang is central Vietnam's dynamic gateway to Hoi An, Hue and My Son.

Da Nang is central Vietnam’s largest city and one of the country’s favourite holiday destinations. It lies on the coast midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with a 10–15 minute transfer from its international airport to the beach. It combines long sandy beaches such as My Khe, the forested Son Tra Peninsula, the caves and pagodas of the Marble Mountains and the mountain resort of Ba Na Hills with its famous Golden Bridge. Since 1 July 2025, Quang Nam province has merged into Da Nang, so the UNESCO-listed Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary are now within the city, making Da Nang the natural base for exploring central Vietnam.

Why Visit Da Nang?

  • Beaches: among the Da Nang beaches, My Khe Beach is one of Asia’s best city beaches.
  • The Golden Bridge: walk among the clouds at Ba Na Hills.
  • Culture and history: the world’s largest collection of Cham art at the Museum of Cham Sculpture.
  • Nature in the city: Son Tra Peninsula and its rare douc langurs.
  • Food: mì Quảng, seafood and Michelin-recognised eateries.
