Ba Na Hills Da Nang 2026: Golden Bridge, Tickets & Tips
Ba Na Hills (Bà Nà Hills, now branded Sun World Ba Na Hills) is a mountain-top resort and theme park on Chua Mountain, west of Da Nang, at around 1,400–1,500 m. It is famous for the Golden Bridge held up by two giant hands, a record-breaking cable car and a French-style village. A standard 2026 ticket costs 1,000,000 VND for adults, including the return cable car.
Status (checked October 2026): open daily. The 2026 standard ticket is 1,000,000 VND per adult (650,000 VND for Da Nang residents) and, under the “1 Ticket – 3 Days” programme, can be used on three consecutive days after FaceID registration. October to December is the rainy season in central Vietnam: cable cars can pause in storms and the summit is often foggy, so keep your Ba Na day flexible.
Why Ba Na Hills is worth seeing:
- The Golden Bridge: a 150 m gold-coloured walkway lifted by two huge stone-look hands, opened in June 2018.
- A record cable car: the Toc Tien – L’Indochine line opened in 2013 and is still cited as the longest non-stop single-track cable car at 5,801 m.
- Cool mountain air: the summit is usually several degrees cooler than the beaches of Da Nang.
- A full day in one ticket: French Village, Le Jardin d’Amour gardens, pagodas and the indoor Fantasy Park are all included.
- Colonial history: the French opened a hill station here in 1919 to escape the lowland heat.

Is Ba Na Hills Worth Visiting?
Yes, if you want the Golden Bridge photo, a spectacular cable car ride and a cool, fun day out. Ba Na Hills is a commercial theme park rather than a cultural site, and it is busy, but the views on a clear day and the scale of the cable car make it one of the most memorable days in central Vietnam.
- Best for: families, first-time visitors, photographers and anyone escaping the summer heat.
- Skip if: you prefer authentic history; spend the day at My Son Sanctuary or the Museum of Cham Sculpture instead.
- Short on time: take the first cable car, walk the Golden Bridge and French Village, and be back in Da Nang by mid-afternoon.
History of Ba Na Hills
French colonists founded a hill station on Chua Mountain in 1919, building villas, a hotel and roads so officials could escape the heat of the coast. After the colonial period the resort fell into ruin, and for decades only foundations and old wine cellars remained in the forest.
Sun Group redeveloped the mountain from the late 2000s. The record-breaking cable car opened on 29 March 2013, the French Village and Fantasy Park followed, and the Golden Bridge, designed by TA Landscape Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, opened in June 2018 and became one of the most photographed structures in Vietnam. Today the resort is operated as Sun World Ba Na Hills.
What to See at Ba Na Hills
1. The Golden Bridge (Cau Vang)
The 150 m Golden Bridge curves through the trees at around 1,400 m, held up by two enormous hands made of fibreglass and wire mesh finished to look like weathered stone. Go straight here after the cable car: by late morning the walkway is shoulder-to-shoulder with visitors.
2. The Toc Tien – L’Indochine cable car
Opened in 2013, this line runs 5,801 m without a break and climbs well over 1,000 m, passing over forest, waterfalls and cloud. Several other lines also link the base station with the summit; the ride takes around 15–20 minutes each way.
3. The French Village
A recreated European old town with a cathedral, square, cobbled lanes, cafés and hotels, including the Mercure French Village. It is a theme-park reconstruction, not a heritage site, but it photographs beautifully when the mist rolls in.

4. Le Jardin d’Amour
A series of themed flower gardens laid out on the slopes, with fountains, sculptures and viewpoints over the mountains. It is quieter than the bridge and the village.
5. Debay Wine Cellar
A wine cellar dug into the mountain in colonial times and now used for wine storage and tastings. Entry is an add-on (about 100,000 VND in the 2026 price list).
6. Linh Ung Pagoda and the spiritual area
Near the summit stand Linh Ung Pagoda, a large seated Buddha statue, a bell tower and Linh Chua Linh Tu Shrine. They are part of the basic ticket and offer some of the best views when the weather is clear. (This is a different pagoda from Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula.)
7. Fantasy Park
An indoor amusement park with rides, games and cinema attractions. Most rides are included; some games and attractions carry extra charges. It is a good rainy-day fallback.
8. Alpine coaster and evening shows
The toboggan-style alpine coaster runs through the forest (extra charge). On many evenings there are shows, street parades and the Beer Plaza with live music; check the day’s programme at the ticket office.

Local Expert Tips for Ba Na Hills
These tips come from years of arranging Da Nang tours for international travellers.
- Check the summit forecast, not the beach forecast: Da Nang can be sunny while the bridge is in cloud.
- Bring a light jacket; it can feel 8–10°C cooler than the coast, and wet in the afternoon.
- Use your three-day validity if fog spoils day one: register FaceID at the retail ticket office before your first entry.
- Eat early or late: buffet restaurants are packed between 11:30 and 13:00.
- Wear comfortable shoes: the resort is spread across slopes and stairs.
- Pair it wisely: Ba Na takes a full day, so do the Marble Mountains or Hoi An on another day.
Ba Na Hills vs Marble Mountains
