Where to Stay in Da Nang: Best Areas & Hotels by Budget
For most travellers the best place to stay in Da Nang is the My Khe beachfront in An Hai and Son Tra wards: beach on the doorstep and the centre 10 minutes away. Choose the Han River area (Hai Chau ward) for city life and food, the Son Tra Peninsula or Non Nuoc coast for resorts, and Hoi An if you prefer heritage. Mid-range rooms cost about 700,000–1,800,000 VND (US$28–70) a night.
Status (checked October 2026): After the July 2025 reorganisation, hotel addresses use new ward names (for example Hai Chau, An Hai, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son and Hoi An wards). October to December is the rainy and typhoon season, when beach rates drop but seas can be rough; peak demand and prices are from about April to August and around Tet (6 February 2027).

1. My Khe beachfront
The long sandy strip behind My Khe Beach, along Vo Nguyen Giap and Hoang Sa streets, is lined with hotels of every level. You can swim before breakfast, walk to seafood restaurants at night and reach the Han River in 10 minutes by Grab. Choose a sea-view room on a high floor for sunrise.
2. Han River and Bach Dang Street
The west bank of the Han River in Hai Chau ward is Da Nang’s traditional centre: Han Market, the Cathedral, the Museum of Cham Sculpture and riverside cafés. It is ideal for watching the weekend fire show at the Dragon Bridge and for eating local.
3. An Thuong
A grid of streets a few blocks from the beach, popular with long-stay visitors. It has hostels, boutique hotels, international restaurants, halal options and craft-beer bars.
4. Son Tra Peninsula
The forested peninsula north-east of the city holds a handful of secluded luxury resorts, including the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, home of the Michelin-starred La Maison 1888. Nearby are Linh Ung Pagoda and the trails of the Son Tra Peninsula.

South of the city, towards Hoi An, the beach widens and large resorts sit behind the dunes, close to the Marble Mountains. This is a good compromise if you want to split time between Da Nang and Hoi An without changing hotel.
6. Hoi An
Since July 2025 Hoi An is part of Da Nang city, and its old town lies in Hoi An ward. Stay near the Ancient Town for evening walks, or at An Bang Beach for a beach-and-heritage mix. See our where to stay in Hoi An guide for details.

- Hotels register your passport with the local police on check-in; this is normal and required by law.
Local Expert Tips for Choosing a Hotel in Da Nang
These tips come from years of arranging Da Nang tours for international travellers.
- On a first visit, stay on the My Khe beachfront and take Grab to the river for dinner.
- Ask for a high floor facing the sea for sunrise; the sun rises over the water.
- If you plan both Da Nang and Hoi An, a Non Nuoc resort lets you visit both without moving hotels.
- Stay near the Han River on Friday to Sunday nights to walk to the Dragon Bridge fire show.
- Choose Son Tra resorts only if you are happy to rely on cars or resort shuttles.
- In October–December, pick a hotel with a good indoor pool, spa or gym for rainy days.
- Book Hoi An riverside rooms with care in flood season: lower floors can flood briefly.
- For early flights, the Han River area is closest to the airport.
