Vietnam Beach Holidays

What are Vietnam beach holidays with Vietnam Tour Expert?

Our Vietnam beach holidays are private tours that pair the country's best sightseeing with time by the sea: My Khe Beach in Da Nang and the beaches near Hoi An on the central coast, plus Mui Ne and Nha Trang in the south. Trips run from 4 to 7 days with your own guide and driver, and suit couples, families and first-time visitors who want culture and beach in one trip.

  • Durations: 4–7 days (beach extensions on request)
  • Destinations: Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Mui Ne, Da Lat, Nha Trang (plus Halong Bay in the north)
  • Best for: couples, families and travellers mixing sightseeing with sun
  • Best months: February–August on the central coast; January–April for Mui Ne and Nha Trang

See our beach holiday tours below, or tap Show more for our full beach guide.

Good to know (2026)

  • Since 1 July 2025, Hoi An, My Son and the Cham Islands belong to Da Nang city under Vietnam’s administrative merger; the beaches and towns themselves are unchanged.
  • Boats to the Cham Islands generally run from about March to August; outside that window we swap in Ba Na Hills or a beach day.
  • October to December is the rainy season on the central coast, when the sea is rough and Hue and Hoi An can flood for a day or two.
  • Tet (Lunar New Year) 2027 falls on 6 February – beach hotels book up early, so reserve that week well in advance.

Why choose a beach holiday in Vietnam?

Vietnam has more than 3,000 km of coastline, and its best beaches sit close to some of its finest sights. You can spend the morning in a UNESCO-listed old town and the afternoon on soft sand, without long transfers.

  • Culture plus coast – Hoi An is only a short ride from the sea at An Bang and Cua Dai beaches.
  • Variety – city beaches in Da Nang, red and white sand dunes in Mui Ne, islands and a long bay in Nha Trang.
  • Good value – comfortable beach hotels and fresh seafood cost far less than in many other beach destinations.

Our Vietnam beach holidays at a glance

All tours run privately and can add extra nights by the sea.

Vietnam’s best beaches on our tours

  • My Khe Beach, Da Nang – a long, wide city beach with lifeguards, seafood restaurants and hotels right on the sand.
  • An Bang and Cua Dai, Hoi An – quieter beaches with cafés and loungers, close to the old town.
  • Lang Co – a lagoon and beach below the Hai Van Pass, seen on the drive between Da Nang and Hue.
  • Mui Ne – a palm-lined bay famous for red and white sand dunes, fishing boats and kitesurfing.
  • Nha Trang – a lively resort city with a long bay and islands reached by boat.

In the north, Halong Bay is about limestone islands rather than sunbathing: the Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Halong Bay tour 5 days includes a night on a cruise with optional kayaking when the weather allows, a refreshing contrast to the southern beaches.

How to choose the right beach holiday in Vietnam

1. Short break with the most beach time

The Da Nang – Hoi An tour 4 days stays in one area, with a night near My Khe Beach and two nights in Hoi An – ideal if you want to relax rather than travel.

2. Culture first, beach second

The Da Nang – Hue – Hoi An tour 7 days adds the Imperial City of Hue and My Son, with a beach or island day built in.

3. Southern sun and sand dunes

The Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang tour 7 days combines a resort night in Mui Ne, cool Da Lat and a boat day on Nha Trang Bay.

4. Travelling from October to December

The central coast is rainy in these months and Nha Trang has its own wet season from about October to December. Mui Ne is usually the driest beach choice from November, and we keep plans flexible so you lose no sightseeing to the weather.

Best time for a beach holiday in Vietnam

Beach seasons differ along the coast, so the right choice depends on your travel month.

Beach area Best months Keep in mind
Da Nang and Hoi An February–August Rain, rough sea and storms Sep–Dec
Nha Trang January–August Heavy rain Oct–Dec
Mui Ne November–April Windy Nov–Mar, great for kitesurfing

For hotel areas and beach tips, read where to stay in Nha Trang and our guide to An Bang Beach near Hoi An.

What is included: private or small group?

Every beach holiday on this page runs as a private tour with your own English-speaking guide on sightseeing days and an air-conditioned car or van with driver; small-group join-in departures are possible on some routes on request. Free beach days are yours to enjoy without a guide.

  • Hotels at your chosen level, including a beach hotel or resort where the itinerary has one
  • Transfers, sightseeing, entrance fees and boat trips in the itinerary
  • Domestic flights where the route needs them, and meals as listed

International flights and visas are not included. Beach holidays start from US$176 per person (Da Nang – Hoi An Tour 4 Days) and run to US$364 (Da Nang – Hue – Hoi An Tour 7 Days); the final price depends on dates, hotel or resort level and group size, and we match resorts to your budget.

Tips from our local team

Jimmy’s team plans beach time around the weather and the sights:

  • Put the beach last. Ending with two or three free days lets you rest before the flight home.
  • Watch the flags. Swim only at patrolled beaches such as My Khe and follow the lifeguards, especially when the sea is choppy.
  • Respect the sun. Between 11am and 3pm the sun is very strong all year; plan sightseeing early and beach time late.
  • Mui Ne is windy from about November to March – superb for kitesurfing, less so for calm swimming.
  • Pick Hoi An beaches if you want lantern evenings in the old town and quiet sand by day.

FAQs about Vietnam Beach Holidays
1. What are the best beaches in Vietnam for a holiday?

My Khe in Da Nang, An Bang and Cua Dai near Hoi An, Mui Ne and Nha Trang are the easiest beaches to combine with sightseeing. Our Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang tour 7 days covers two of them.

2. When is the best time for a beach holiday in Vietnam?

February to August suits Da Nang and Hoi An, January to August suits Nha Trang, and November to April is the dry season in Mui Ne. Read our Hoi An travel tips for central coast weather.

3. Is Da Nang good for a beach holiday in Vietnam?

Yes. My Khe Beach is long, patrolled and lined with hotels, and Hoi An and the Marble Mountains are close by. The Da Nang – Hoi An tour 4 days is our most relaxed beach option.

4. Can I visit the Cham Islands on a Hoi An beach holiday?

Yes, between about March and August, when boats to the Cham Islands generally run; outside that period we offer Ba Na Hills or a beach day instead. It is an option on the Da Nang – Hue – Hoi An tour 7 days.

Nha Trang is a lively city with islands and boat trips, while Mui Ne is a quieter bay known for sand dunes and kitesurfing. See our guide to where to stay in Nha Trang to compare.

6. Should I avoid the central Vietnam coast from October to December?
