Vietnam Luxury Tours

What are Vietnam luxury tours with Vietnam Tour Expert?

Our Vietnam luxury tours are fully private trips with 5-star hotels, a balcony cabin on a 5-star Halong Bay cruise, your own expert guide and a private car with driver. Our signature itinerary covers Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay in 5 days, and any tour on our site can be upgraded to the same luxury level for couples, families and discerning travellers.

  • Durations: 5 days as standard; 7–14 days tailor-made on request
  • Destinations: Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Halong Bay (Hue, Hoi An, Saigon on request)
  • Best for: couples, families and travellers who value comfort and privacy
  • Best months: October–December and March–May in the north

See our luxury tour below, or tap Show more for our full luxury travel guide.

Good to know (2026)

  • The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi is closed for maintenance from 4 September to 2 November 2026; outside that period it is normally closed on Mondays and Fridays.
  • June to October is storm season in the north, and Halong Bay cruises can be suspended at short notice by the authorities – we keep a flexible plan B.
  • Since the July 2025 administrative merger, Hanoi’s Old Quarter lies in the new Hoan Kiem ward; hotel addresses may show the new ward names.
  • Tet (Lunar New Year) 2027 falls on 6 February. Top hotels and 5-star cruises book out early for that period.

What is a luxury tour in Vietnam?

A luxury tour in Vietnam is not just a 5-star hotel. It is the whole experience planned around you: a private guide who adapts each day, a comfortable car with an experienced driver, the best cabin on the right ship, quiet timing at busy sights and restaurants chosen for quality rather than convenience.

Vietnam offers outstanding value at the top end. International 5-star hotels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, boutique resorts on the central coast and a fleet of 5-star cruise ships on Halong Bay give you world-class comfort at prices well below many other destinations.

Our Vietnam luxury tours at a glance

Tour Days Route
Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Halong Bay (Deluxe level) 5 Hanoi, Tam Coc and Hoa Lu, overnight 5-star Halong Bay cruise

The Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Halong Bay tour 5 days is offered at three levels; its Deluxe level uses a 5-star hotel in central Hanoi for three nights and a balcony cabin on a 5-star cruise. Other routes, such as the Hanoi – Sapa – Halong Bay tour 6 days and the Da Nang – Hue – Hoi An tour 7 days, can be built at the same level.

How to choose your luxury tour in Vietnam

1. First visit, limited time

Five days in the north – Hanoi, the river landscapes of Ninh Binh and a night on Halong Bay – is the most rewarding short luxury trip.

2. One to two weeks

Add the central coast for heritage and beach resorts: Hue’s Imperial City, Hoi An’s old town and a few days at a 5-star resort in Da Nang. Finish in Ho Chi Minh City or the Mekong Delta if you have more time.

3. Cruise upgrade

On Halong Bay, the ship matters as much as the hotel. A smaller 5-star ship with balcony cabins and a quieter route gives a far more exclusive feel.

4. Special interests

Food lovers, photographers and families can each have a tailored pace and guides who match their interests – just tell us what matters most.

Best time for a luxury tour in Vietnam

For the northern itinerary, October to December and March to May bring the most comfortable weather and the clearest views on Halong Bay. For longer trips, use this guide:

Region Best months Keep in mind
North (Hanoi, Halong Bay) Oct–Dec, Mar–May Storms possible Jun–Oct
Centre (Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang) February–August Rain and floods Sep–Dec
South (Saigon, Mekong) December–April Showers May–Nov

Luxury experiences we can add

  • Private Halong Bay cruise – charter a small ship or upgrade to a top suite on a 5-star cruise.
  • Fine dining and street food – a table at one of Hanoi’s top restaurants, or an evening on our Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour with your own guide.
  • Beach resort finale – a few nights at a 5-star resort near Hoi An or in Da Nang.
  • Spa and wellness – hotel spa time built into your itinerary rather than squeezed in.

Who a luxury tour in Vietnam suits best

A luxury tour is ideal if you want Vietnam’s highlights without the stress: honeymooners and couples celebrating an anniversary, families who need space and flexibility, older travellers who prefer comfort and short walking distances, and busy professionals with limited time who want every day to count.

It also suits travellers who like depth. With a private guide you can linger at the Imperial City in Hue, explore the markets of Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace or change the plan when something catches your eye.

What is included: private, never small group

Luxury tours are always private. They usually include:

  • 5-star hotels and a balcony cabin on a 5-star Halong Bay cruise (Deluxe level)
  • Airport transfers and a private air-conditioned car or van with driver
  • Your own English-speaking guide, with French and other languages on request
  • Sightseeing, entrance fees and boat trips shown in the itinerary, and meals as listed

International flights and visas are not included. Prices start from US$99 per adult for the Hanoi – Halong Heritage Luxury Group Tour 1 Day and US$362 for the Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Halong Bay Tour 5 Days; the final price depends on dates, room or suite category and the cruise you choose.

Tips from our local team

Our advice, drawn from years of arranging high-end trips in Vietnam:

  • Book cruises and suites early. The best cabins on the top Halong Bay ships sell out first, especially from October to April.
  • Fewer moves, longer stays. Two or three nights in each place feels far more luxurious than changing hotels daily.
  • Time the big sights. We plan early starts at popular places to beat the crowds and heat.
  • Fly between regions. Domestic flights save long drives; ask us about business class where available.
  • Dress for temples and fine dining. Cover shoulders and knees at pagodas and palaces, and pack smart-casual clothes for evenings at top restaurants and on 5-star cruises.
