Tour Information & Itinerary
This private Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang tour 7 days (6 nights) is the classic southern Vietnam loop from city to sea: Ho Chi Minh City’s landmarks, the sand dunes and Fairy Stream of Mui Ne, two nights in cool Da Lat, then the Khanh Le Pass down to Nha Trang for a boat trip on the bay and the Ponagar Cham Towers. Guide, driver and transfers are included.
Status (checked October 2026): the itinerary below is a sample that we tailor to your dates and pace. Nha Trang’s rainy and typhoon season runs from September to December, when boat trips can be cancelled and the Khanh Le Pass can be hit by landslides after heavy rain – we keep a land-based back-up plan. Swimming and diving inside the strictly protected Hon Mun reef zone remain suspended, and Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ho Chi Minh City can only be seen from outside during its restoration.

Is 7 Days Enough for Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Da Lat and Nha Trang?
Yes – seven days is the shortest sensible way to see all four. The route runs in one direction, so there is no backtracking: about 3–4 hours to Mui Ne, 4–5 hours up to Da Lat and 3.5–4 hours down the Khanh Le Pass to Nha Trang, then a short transfer to Cam Ranh Airport. Da Lat and Nha Trang each get two nights.
The trade-off is pace: there are three road days and only one night in Mui Ne and Ho Chi Minh City. If you want a lazy beach day at the end or the Mekong Delta at the start, ask us to add a day.
Tour Highlights
1. Ho Chi Minh City in a Day
Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the French-era Saigon Central Post Office and Ben Thanh Market give a compact first look at the city.
2. Mui Ne’s Dunes and Fairy Stream
Walk barefoot up Fairy Stream, watch sunset on the free Red Sand Dunes and sunrise on the White Sand Dunes in Hoa Thang commune, about 30 km away.
3. Da Lat’s Pine Hills
Glide 2.3 km over the forest to Truc Lam Zen Monastery, ride the coaster at Datanla Waterfall and stroll around 25-hectare Xuan Huong Lake. Dalat Railway Station (1938) has been a national monument since 2001.
4. The Khanh Le Pass
The road from Da Lat to Nha Trang drops from the highlands to the coast through forest, waterfalls and cloud – one of the most scenic drives in southern Vietnam, about 140 km in total.
5. Nha Trang Bay and Its Islands
A boat trip passes Hon Mun Island, the core of Vietnam’s first marine protected area, before beach time on Hon Tam Island. Swimming and snorkelling happen only at permitted sites.
6. Ponagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda
The Ponagar Cham Towers, built between the 8th and 13th centuries and a Special National Relic since 2025, are still a place of worship. Long Son Pagoda, founded in 1886, is crowned by a 24 m White Buddha.
Who This Tour Is For – and Who Should Choose Another
Choose this tour if you:
- want city, desert-like dunes, mountains and beach in a single week;
- are travelling with children or friends who will love the dunes, the coaster and the boat trip;
- prefer a one-way route ending near the beach, with a private guide and driver.
Consider another option if you:
- dislike road days – Days 2, 3 and 5 each include 3–5 hours in the car, and the Khanh Le Pass is winding;
- are travelling between September and December and want guaranteed beach weather – Nha Trang’s rainy season can cancel boat trips; our Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat tour 6 days skips Nha Trang;
- have only a day in the south – try our Cao Dai Temple and Cu Chi Tunnels day tour.

We choose central hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, beachfront hotels or resorts in Mui Ne, hotels near Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat and hotels on or near the beachfront in Nha Trang. Your category is confirmed when you book.

Local Expert Notes by Jimmy
These notes come from years of arranging southern Vietnam tours for international travellers.
- Two weather systems: Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne and Da Lat are wettest from May to October, while Nha Trang’s rainy season is September to December. January to April is the sweet spot for all four.
- Khanh Le Pass: the road is winding – take motion-sickness tablets if you need them, and expect us to re-route if landslides are reported after heavy rain.
- Snorkelling honestly: avoid any trip promising to “snorkel at Hon Mun” – the strictly protected zone is closed; good boat crews take you to permitted sites instead.
- Layers for Da Lat: at about 1,500 m, Da Lat is cool in the evening, so pack a light jacket even if the rest of the trip is beachwear.
- Dune timing: sunrise and sunset are the best and coolest times on the sand; bring sunglasses against wind-blown sand.
- Cam Ranh flights: the airport is about 35 km from central Nha Trang, so we leave about 2.5–3 hours before an international flight.
- Tet 2027: Lunar New Year falls on 6 February 2027 – book hotels in Da Lat and Nha Trang early.
More planning help: our Ho Chi Minh City travel guide, Mui Ne travel guide, Da Lat travel guide and Nha Trang travel guide, plus Nha Trang transportation, Nha Trang travel tips and how to get to Da Lat.

FAQs about the Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang Tour 7 Days
1. Is 7 days enough for Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Da Lat and Nha Trang?
Yes, for a first taste of each. Seven days gives you a day in Ho Chi Minh City, a night in Mui Ne for the dunes, two nights in Da Lat and two nights in Nha Trang with a full day on the bay. It is a moving holiday, so add a day or two if you want more beach time.
2. How long is the drive from Da Lat to Nha Trang?
About 140 km and roughly 3.5–4 hours over the Khanh Le Pass, one of Vietnam’s most scenic mountain roads, dropping from the pine forests of the highlands to the coast.
3. Is the Khanh Le Pass safe?
In normal weather, yes, and your driver knows the road well. After heavy rain, mainly from September to December, landslides can close or slow the pass, so we check conditions the day before and can switch to a longer route if needed.
4. Can I snorkel at Hon Mun Island?
Not inside its strictly protected zone: swimming, snorkelling and diving there have been suspended since June 2022 to let the reefs recover. The boat trip passes Hon Mun, and you swim or snorkel only at permitted sites chosen by the boat crew on the day.
5. When is the best time to visit Nha Trang?
January to August, when days are sunny and the sea is calm. Unlike most of Vietnam, Nha Trang has its rainy and typhoon season from September to December, when boat trips can be cancelled at short notice.
6. How far is Cam Ranh Airport from Nha Trang?
Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) is about 35 km south of central Nha Trang, a 40–50-minute drive. The tour ends there on Day 7, with flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and several international destinations.
7. How long is the drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne?
About 3–4 hours by private car on the expressways, roughly 200–230 km depending on your hotel.
8. Is VinWonders Nha Trang included?
No, it is not part of the standard itinerary, but we can add it as an optional day or half day. Note that the Vinpearl sea cable car is closed for scheduled maintenance from 26 October to 10 November 2026, when guests cross to the island by speedboat.
9. Are jeep or ATV rides at the White Sand Dunes included?
No. Jeep and ATV rides are optional and paid locally to licensed operators; entry to the dunes is included and you can walk up for the sunrise view.
10. What is the difference between this tour and the 6-day Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat tour?
The 6-day tour ends in Da Lat with Langbiang Mountain and a flight back to Ho Chi Minh City. This 7-day tour continues over the Khanh Le Pass to Nha Trang for two nights by the sea, a boat trip on Nha Trang Bay and the Ponagar Cham Towers, and ends at Cam Ranh Airport.
11. Is this tour suitable for families with children?
Yes. Activities are easy to moderate, the boat trip is a highlight for children, and optional extras like the Datanla alpine coaster or a mud bath can be skipped. We can arrange connecting rooms or family rooms on request.
12. What happens if the sea is too rough for the boat trip?
The port authorities can stop boats in bad weather. If that happens we switch Day 6 to a land programme – for example a hot-spring mud bath, Hon Chong Promontory and Nha Trang’s markets – and try the boat trip on Day 7 morning if your flight allows.
13. Can I end the tour in Ho Chi Minh City instead of Nha Trang?
Yes. We can book a flight from Cam Ranh to Ho Chi Minh City (about 1 hour) and meet you there, or add a night in Ho Chi Minh City before you fly home.
14. Is the Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang tour private?
Yes. You travel with your own English-speaking guide and a private car or van with driver throughout, so the timing and stops are flexible.
15. How much does the Ho Chi Minh – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Nha Trang Tour 7 Days cost?
The price depends on your hotel category, group size and travel dates. 2026–2027 prices are being updated, so send us your dates through the inquiry form and we will reply with a tailored quote within 24 hours.
