FAQs about the Mekong Princess Cruise
1. What is the Mekong Princess Cruise?

An 8-day, 7-night luxury river cruise between Saigon and Siem Reap on the Mekong Princess, an all-suite ship with 14 suites for 28 guests, operated by Viet Princess Cruises. It runs in both directions.

2. How much does the Mekong Princess cruise cost?

From US$2,530 per person in a Junior Suite (April–September 2027) and US$2,902 in October–December 2026, up to US$5,288 in an Angkor Suite in peak season, twin share.

3. What is included?

All meals, organic coffee, teas, soft drinks, local beer and local spirits, the in-suite minibar, all excursions with guides, cultural shows, gratuities on board and ashore, Wi-Fi in public areas, transfers from designated points in Saigon and Siem Reap, VAT and port charges.

4. When does the Mekong Princess depart?

On Thursdays, every second week in each direction. Remaining 2026 sailings: upstream 29 October, 12 and 26 November, 10 and 24 December; downstream 5 and 19 November, 3, 17 and 31 December. Ask us for 2027 dates.

5. Where does the cruise start and end?

Upstream: hotel transfer in Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon Port; the ship ends at Kampong Cham and a coach takes you to Siem Reap. Downstream: hotel pick-up in Siem Reap at 07:00 and disembarkation at Saigon Port at 08:00 on day 8.

6. How do I get a Cambodian visa on the Mekong Princess?

It is issued on board at the river border for US$50 per person, paid in cash. Cambodian e-visas are not accepted for river entry.

7. Do I need a Vietnam visa?

Yes, unless your nationality is exempt. On the downstream cruise you must have your Vietnam e-visa before embarkation – it cannot be issued on board.

8. What are the suites like?

There are five suite types from 20 m² to 52 m², all with floor-to-ceiling windows and a French balcony, a river-view bathroom and a stocked minibar. Tonle and Angkor suites have butler service; Angkor Suites add a wraparound veranda and a spa massage.

9. Are children allowed?

Children under 6 are not recommended because the railings have no netting. Children 6–11 sharing their parents’ bed receive 40% off, and guests 12+ on an extra bed 25% off.

10. What is the cancellation policy?

More than 90 days before sailing: US$400 per person administrative fee. 90–61 days: 50% of the fare. 60 days or less, or no-show: 100%. Full payment is due 90 days before departure.

11. Is the Mekong Princess suitable for travellers with limited mobility?

No. Excursions involve uneven ground, sampans, tuk-tuks and gangways, and the ship is not wheelchair accessible.

12. How do I book?

Send us your sailing date, direction, suite and number of travellers with the code VTE-MP8 through the Cruise Inquiry form or WhatsApp +84 88 626 1368. We reply within 24 hours.
