Is Landmark 81 SkyView Worth Visiting?

Yes, if you like city views and time it well. Landmark 81 SkyView is the only place in Vietnam where you can look down on a city from almost 400 m, and at sunset the view of the river bends and the skyline is spectacular. It is expensive by local standards, so choose a clear day and arrive before sunset to get both daylight and night views for one ticket.

  • Best for: photographers, couples, families with older children, skyline lovers.
  • Skip if: it is a hazy or stormy day, you are on a tight budget, or you are afraid of heights; a rooftop bar in the centre is a cheaper alternative.
  • Short on time: book a sunset slot online and allow 75 minutes including the lift queue.

About Landmark 81

Landmark 81 was developed by Vingroup as the centrepiece of the Vinhomes Central Park development on the west bank of the Saigon River. The tower was completed in 2018, overtaking Hanoi’s Keangnam Landmark 72 as Vietnam’s tallest building, and its design by the international firm Atkins was inspired by a bundle of bamboo stems, a traditional symbol of strength and unity in Vietnamese culture. The building holds a shopping mall, offices, serviced apartments and the Vinpearl Luxury Landmark 81 hotel.

The SkyView observation deck on the top floors opened to visitors in 2019. It occupies floors 79, 80 and 81, linked by internal stairs and lifts, with glass walls on all sides. High-speed lifts take visitors from the ticket counter in the basement of the Vincom mall to the top in under a minute.

What to See at Landmark 81 SkyView

1. The 360-degree observation decks

Walk around floors 79–81 to see the whole city: the historic centre and Bitexco Financial Tower to the south, Thu Thiem’s new skyline across the river, the meandering Saigon River and, on clear days, the green countryside beyond the city.

2. Sunset and city lights

The best show is the hour around sunset, when the sun drops over the city to the west and the bridges, river and towers light up.

3. The glass floor

A transparent floor section lets you look straight down towards the river park; it is a favourite photo spot.

4. SkyTouch

The optional SkyTouch experience takes visitors outside on the upper level, wearing a safety harness, for an open-air view high above the city. It is subject to weather and an extra charge.

5. Restaurants and bars

Restaurants, cafés and bars on the upper floors, such as on floor 79, let you combine the view with a meal or drink; some need reservations and have dress codes.

6. Vinhomes Central Park

At the foot of the tower, the landscaped riverside park is free and pleasant for an evening walk, with views of the tower lit up at night.
